How to be inclusive

Everybody is made in the image of God, and everybody needs to hear the gospel, but not everybody can access a church service, Sunday school or youth group in the same way.
Below are some starting points and helpful hints that can give you an idea of what questions you might need to ask, or what to anticipate. But they’re no replacement for getting to know the child in question! You can also ask parents or carers for the specific plans that have been drawn up by professionals to help schools and clubs care well for them.
To give you the hints I’ve drawn on my experience working in the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities department in a secondary school and as a care assisstant for teenagers and and pre-schoolers. But I’ve also benefitted from websites and videos made by people with disabilities or who are not neurotypical and can speak from their own experience - you can find the links to these at the end of each article.
