[Ephesians 5:1-20]

What's in the box.jpg

What’s in the dark? Secretly stash some things in boxes or bags you can’t see into. Then your group can investigate without bringing the items into the light. Baked beans, marbles, tin foil, earth, ice, breadcrumbs, syrup and pinecones are all good ideas!

Reading: Ephesians 5:1-20

Discussion questions:
v1-2
Why should Christians follow God’s example? What’s a key word which Paul repeats in this instruction?
v3-4 In what ways is the life of love incompatible with the sins Paul lists in these verses?
v5-7 What is God’s response to a sinful life? And to the person who follows him? In what way can people be deceived into thinking idolatry like this is good?
v8-10 What do people need to know to live as children of light?
v11-14 How are things in the dark brought into the light? Why is this a good thing?
v15-20 What does the life of a child of light look like?
What’s the most surprising thing for you about life in the light? And about life in the dark? What would you say to convince someone to live as a child of light?

Is there someone you would like God to make a child of light?
Apologise to him for the things you have done in the dark.
