5. Why does Paul write?

Intro: Talk about jobs they would like in the future. Why do they want to do that? You could take this quick and silly quiz.
First Reading: Ephesians 3:1-13
Discussion questions:
v1&13 What is Paul suffering for them? (Use Acts to help)
v1-13 How often does Paul mention God’s grace or gift?
v2-6 What is the ‘mystery’ Paul is referring to here?
v7-9 What is Paul’s work as a servant of God?
v10-13 What is God’s plan and how do Paul and the Ephesian Church fit into that plan?
Second Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21
Discussion questions:
v14-15 What have we learnt so far in this letter about how God is a Father?
v16-19 What does Paul pray for the church in Ephesus? What is surprising, exciting or confusing in that list?
v20-21 What does God deserve and why?
How have you seen God’s power at work in your life, in your church and in the lives of people you know?
When is a time in history that God has done something more than his people imagined or asked for?
“Pray for each other to be strengthened through the Spirit.
Pray that you’ll be rooted and established in Christ’s love.”
Extra Time: If you have access to, or can build, an assault course that’s a great connection to how high and deep etc. Christ’s love is.
