5. How do people become the church?

Intro: Think of some famous rivalries; between superheroes, football teams, celebrities etc. What are the differences between them and why is it hard for them to get along?

Discussion questions:
v11-13 What are some of the differences between Gentiles and Jews?
v14-16 Who has been reconciled to whom? How did Jesus Christ do that and why?
v17 Who is ‘far away’ and who is ‘near’ in this verse? Why does Jesus preach to all of them?
v18-22 What has Jesus made possible for both Jews and Gentiles? How is this different to the relationship before Jesus?
How does your background affect your relationship with Jesus and the church?
What does a church who is one in Christ look like?
