2. Who are the Ephesian Church?

Intro: How do you start a letter or an email? To a friend, to your bank, to someone you don’t know? How would you start a letter to a church?
Reading: Ephesians 1:1-14
Discussion Questions:
v1-2 How does Paul start his letter to the Ephesians?
v3-10 What words don’t you understand/wouldn’t use normally? What do they mean? What are some of the spiritual blessings believers have in Christ? Which surprises you most?
v9-10 What is the mystery in verse 9? What do we know about what Jesus has done?
v11-14 What happens before people believe in Jesus? What happens as/after someone becomes a Christian? Why do you think Paul starts his letter by reminding the Ephesians of these truths?
How does the Ephesian Church fit into God’s plan to bring everything under Christ’s reign? Which of the benefits of being a Christian sounds best to you? What aspect of the gospel do you think your friends will find most appealing?
