Memory Verses
For Jesus is the New and Better

In each lesson there is a suggestion for a memory verse and how to learn it, but they’ve been collected together here so that you have the option to devote a whole week to the memory verses or use them as part of a recap week. You could make learning them a competition and offer small prizes or you could take the approach that learning them by heart is it’s own reward!

Here you can find all the verses for Jesus is the New and Better. Each is in a different font to help distinguish them from each other - both on the page and in the mind. If you have access to a colour printer than you can use colour to do the same.

We learn best when we learn something in several different ways: so here is a simple picture to accompany each verse and jog the memory. If you have a projector available you can use the powerpoint as it is, but this version was designed to be printed out and cut up and paired with the text.

If a verse a week is too much than I recommend using Genesis 50:20 (the verse for Joseph) for everyone from Adam to Moses as the message that God can bring good out of any evil. Then for Joshua, Boaz, David and Daniel the verse for Boaz’s week 1 Corinthians 7:23 fits best as all of them point to Jesus’ rescue.

If you are using these verses either as part of a memory verse competition or as part of a recap week then these might be helpful:
